(Not sure why the images are slightly fuzzy, I assure you the original pixel art isn't.)

This is my protagonist, Tom. Inspired by my audiowalk, he has a job with the military -

Providing remote intelligence and mission guidance for special operations. The first part of the game is intended to be a fairly straightforward set of mini-games concerning Tom's assistance of one particular soldier. Then, suddenly -

The soldier dies. It's Tom's fault. He becomes a shadow of his former self. The majority of the game concerns Tom's struggle to get past the death of the soldier and to reinvent himself (Tom's image will progress from the two-pixel representation on the left back to his initial representation to even more detailed pixel art as the player progresses).
This is concept art for the ending (not sure if good or bad, probably slightly bad) in which Tom channels his emotions into anger at the people the military is fighting. Tom joins the army to get revenge for the soldier's death. I intend for the rest of the game art, perhaps excluding other human characters, to be created in a NON-pixel art manner to highlight Tom's emotional incompleteness.
