You slowly walk up to the Outlands Governor. You grab him around the base of his head, and slowly pull up. He struggles for breath. "I will ask you once again Governor. Why is this man being starved?"
The Governor's eyes dart past you, signalling something. Before you can turn around, you feel large arms around //your// neck. With a sudden jerk, you're pulled off.

Lying on the ground, you see that your carriage driver and advisor are lying dead on the ground by the carriage. Above you looms a massive Cockroach wearing the insignia of the Governor's army.
[[Get up]]
You try to get up, but you can't seem to feel your body. As the life fades from you, the Governor, who has regained his breath, stands over you.
"You relinquished power of this region to me Emperor Betrel. Do not presume to rule over my in my own home."
He signals to the cockroach, which places its foot on your head.
"Everything is changing Emperor. The sky is coming down, the walls are crumbling, the people are fighting us. There's no room for lowly workers to hog all the food. You are dead. You have failed in your duties to the Inpire. Those Outlanders who don't die from starvation are crushed as the caves of the empire fully collapse over the next few weeks. If there were any future generations to tell your story, they would have considered you one of the lucky ones who died before the Inpire collapsed in earnest.

You and the Governor dine in his mansion. Outside there is a din of workers protesting and shouting at soldiers surrounding the Governor's mansion. Men, women, and children alike cry about lack of food and shelter.
The Governor's chef has prepared a delicious meal, perhaps even better than the meals your personal chef prepares.

Your Highness was gracious enough to allow me control of the military to handle the situation, so I could house the rebels in the jail, you understand, to keep them safe."

In the middle of the night there is a rumbling across the Outlands.

Unfortunately, the food reserves the Governor stored were blocked off byt the collapse. Within a week, the Outlands are home to nothing but death and despair. He is about to shoot.

There is very little time to lose. You ask your carriage driver, a ladybug, if he can fly you up into the abyss.

"The piercing light we all see is actually from a new world, a world that will be safer for all of us."
The people seem unsure.
"-With more food in it than you could imagine!"
The Outlanders begin cheering furiously. Flies and winged ants begin towing their non-winged counterparts in a mass exodus towards the hole above.

On your driver's back, you lead the swarm up to the hole. As you approach it, you pause to give a speech before you carefully widen the hole to allow safe passage.

The council brings you outside to a hangar. Inside are 13 glistening robots, each labeled with a different province of the Inpire. You approach the one labelled "Extopia". A hatch on the front opens with a hiss of steam, and ladder extends down. You crawl up into the cockpit. Your advisor soon follows, pointing out that there's indeed room for two.
There's a small instruction booklet on the dashboard, but honestly, you feel that the controls will be intuitive.
Ector shouts from his GL-13 "We've programmed instructions for Extopia! Good luck sir, we'll see you on the surface!"
[[Engage GL-13 to Extopia]]
You engage the thrusters on the GL-13. The scientists have programmed some sort of auto-pilotting system to take you to Extopia. You arrive within 30 minutes of landscape whizzing past you. When you arrive, you see the blocked road that was keepig Catalina trapped.
[[Engage Drill to Extopia]]
(Set: $Violent to true)You ask for their plans. They nervously lay them out before you. When you reach out to take one, those closest to you flinch.
There are 3 plans:

[[A plan written with such poor handwriting you can't make out a word.]]
[[A plan that only one scientist seems excited about]]
[[A plan involving giant robot mech suits]]
The hands on the GL-13 contort into gleaming drills. You plow them into the rubble, which is obliterated in a cloud of dust. On the other side, you see Catalina weeping next to her carriage, the city of Extopia just behind her. You get out of the GL-13, and greet her.
[[Reunite]]
You and Catalina embrace deeply. But their is little time to lose, so you explain the situation and what you must do. "I'm coming with you," she insists.
Behind you both, the city of Extopia stands gleaming. Butterflies fly overhead carrying parcels, mites peddle papers in the streets. Over the city a gigantic crack snakes across the cavern cieling.
You and Catalina turn and admire the GL-13 before getting in.
